Workshop for Tutors: Math

Dawn Bastani is spearheading an outreach effort in our community by organizing tutors in Math and Reading for elementary school-aged children to help them increase their proficiency and have more successful outcomes at school. We encourage anyone interested in participating in such an outreach effort to attend one or both of the workshops that Dawn is organizing. No experience in tutoring children is necessary. The workshops will provide training in this simple but rewarding task.

Message from Dawn:
Dear friends, school started this week! Our Math and Reading tutoring starts on Thursday, September 7 from 5-6 pm.

We are only a few weeks away from the start of this exciting new Social Action! I have had many people express interest in taking an active role in this initiative. Well, now the time has come to make your commitment.

During the these next few weeks I will need to create a schedule, submit your name for a background check and have a personal dialog with each of you to discuss which grade level you will teach, possible partnering and plans for your group of children.

So, at this time, I need for you to let me know that you plan to commit to a weekly role as a Math or Reading tutor.
