SUMMARY:Twelfth Day of Ridvan Celebration
DESCRIPTION:A celebration of the Twelfth Day of Ridvan will be held at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden on Saturday\, May 2nd at 12:30pm as a picnic lunch. Please bring blankets or chairs and food for yourselves or to share. We still start with a short program and then enjoy the park and time together. \nWe will be gathering on the side of the Rose Garden that has the lawns (not the side with the roses and fountain). The Rose Garden doesn’t allow large gatherings on the side with the roses/fountains and does not have reservations\, so we will be gathering on the lawn side\, wherever there is space! \nThis day commemorates the exile of Baha’u’llah\, his family\, and several followers to Constantinople. Although this exile would lead to imprisonment\, torture\, sickness\, hardship\, and death\, it would also lead to the growth and spread of Baha’u’llah’s teachings. This is because Bahá’í months are nineteen days long.  Bahá’u’lláh ordained this gathering in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas\, instructing His believers to come together every month even if “only water be served”.  The gathering includes devotions\, consultation on community affairs\, and a social portion. \nBahá’u’lláh’s son\, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá\, said the following about these gatherings: \n“This feast is held to foster comradeship and love\, to call God to mind and supplicate Him with contrite hearts\, and to encourage benevolent pursuits.” \n“It rejoiceth mind and heart” \n“If this feast be held in the proper fashion\, the friends will\, once in nineteen days\, find themselves spiritually restored\, and endued with a power that is not of this world.”

DESCRIPTION:The Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of San Jose will host an introductory session to study the recent letter\, dated December 31st\, 2025 from the Universal House of Justice to the Boards of Continental Counselors on the occasion of their recent conference. The study will be in both English and Persian. \nThe program will begin with a viewing of the 2025 in Review video prepared by the Baha’i International Community offices\, followed by a breakout into smaller groups in the classrooms for a focused study of the letter with an eye to “putting what hath been written into reality and action” as Baha’u’llah has written. The goal is to generate programs that we can carry out in collaboration with the larger community.
