DESCRIPTION:A weekly Sunday morning devotional at the Baha’i Center\, open to all! \nWhile the children and junior youth are in classes\, we meet in the main sanctuary at 11:00 AM for prayers\, selections from sacred scripture\, and conversation about how the sacred texts apply in this needy world. \nSome books of prayers and sacred texts will be available\, and participants are also welcome to bring their own scriptures for devotions. \nThe Twin Luminaries of this resplendent age have taught us this: Prayer is the essential spiritual conversation of the soul with its Maker\, direct and without intermediation. It is the spiritual food that sustains the life of the spirit. Like the morning’s dew\, it brings freshness to the heart and cleanses it\, purifying it from attachments of the insistent self. It is a fire that burns away the veils and a light that leads to the ocean of reunion with the Almighty. DESCRIPTION:The Feast of ‘Aẓamat (Grandeur) \nWhat is Feast? \nOnce every Bahá’í month\, the community gathers for a Nineteen Day Feast. This is because Bahá’í months are nineteen days long. Bahá’u’lláh ordained this gathering in the Kitáb-i-Aqdas\, instructing His believers to come together every month even if “only water be served”.  The gathering includes devotions\, consultation on community affairs\, and a social portion. \nBahá’u’lláh’s son\, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá\, said the following about these gatherings: \n“This feast is held to foster comradeship and love\, to call God to mind and supplicate Him with contrite hearts\, and to encourage benevolent pursuits.” \n“It rejoiceth mind and heart” \n“If this feast be held in the proper fashion\, the friends will\, once in nineteen days\, find themselves spiritually restored\, and endued with a power that is not of this world.”
