DESCRIPTION:A celebration of the Twelfth Day of Ridvan will be held at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden on Saturday\, May 2nd at 12:30pm as a picnic lunch. Please bring blankets or chairs and food for yourselves or to share. We still start with a short program and then enjoy the park and time together. \nWe will be gathering on the side of the Rose Garden that has the lawns (not the side with the roses and fountain). The Rose Garden doesn’t allow large gatherings on the side with the roses/fountains and does not have reservations\, so we will be gathering on the lawn side\, wherever there is space! \nThis day commemorates the exile of Baha’u’llah\, his family\, and several followers to Constantinople. Although this exile would lead to imprisonment\, torture\, sickness\, hardship\, and death\, it would also lead to the growth and spread of Baha’u’llah’s teachings. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, June 28th from 4pm – 5:30pm at the San Jose Baha’i Center\, there will be a report given on the U.S. National Convention from our local delegate. A dinner will be held after the report. Our delegate represented San Jose\, Milpitas\, Campbell\, and Santa Clara. \nWhat is the National Convention? “the primary purpose in holding a convention is to enable the delegates to meet together\, deliberate freely upon the affairs of the community\, and cast their ballots” for the nine members of the National Spiritual Assembly for the next Baha’i year.
