SUMMARY:Unit Convention
DESCRIPTION:The Unit Convention for Electoral Unit 159: San José\, Milpitas\, Campbell\, and Santa Clara\, will be held at the San José Baha’i Center on Sunday\, October 4\, 2026. \nBreakfast and registration will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. \nUnit Convention will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. \nBalloting will conclude at 11:00 a.m. to allow our tellers to tally the results. Lunch will be served. Children are\nwelcome. We will provide a special program for them so they can participate. \nUnit Convention is an opportunity to participate in two equally important tasks: one is to\nconsult on matters important to our community\, thereby assisting the person elected as\nour delegate to carry our message to the annual convention. The other is to elect this\ndelegate. \nThere will be special messages from our National Spiritual Assembly\, the Regional\nBaha’i Council\, one of our Auxiliary Board Members\, and Trustees for the Institution of Huququ’llah.\nWe will announce our delegate’s name after lunch. The convention will conclude at 2:30\np.m. \n“This Administrative Order is fundamentally different from anything that any\nProphet has previously established\, inasmuch as Bahá’u’lláh has Himself revealed\nits principles\, established its institutions\, appointed the person to interpret His\nWord and conferred the necessary authority on the body designed to supplement\nand apply His legislative ordinances. Therein lies the secret of its strength\, its\nfundamental distinction\, and the guarantee against disintegration and schism.”\nShoghi Effendi\, The World Order of Bahá’u’lláh \nWe look forward to seeing you there!

SUMMARY:Sunday Morning Devotional at the Baha'i Center
DESCRIPTION:A weekly Sunday morning devotional at the Baha’i Center\, open to all! \nWhile the children and junior youth are in classes\, we meet in the main sanctuary at 11:00 AM for prayers\, selections from sacred scripture\, and conversation about how the sacred texts apply in this needy world. \nSome books of prayers and sacred texts will be available\, and participants are also welcome to bring their own scriptures for devotions. \nThe Twin Luminaries of this resplendent age have taught us this: Prayer is the essential spiritual conversation of the soul with its Maker\, direct and without intermediation. It is the spiritual food that sustains the life of the spirit. Like the morning’s dew\, it brings freshness to the heart and cleanses it\, purifying it from attachments of the insistent self. It is a fire that burns away the veils and a light that leads to the ocean of reunion with the Almighty. On its wings does the soul soar in the heavens of God and draw closer to the divine reality. \n(The Universal House of Justice\, from a letter dated 18 December 2014 to the Bahá’ís in Iran)
